In July 1951 my parents Fred and Frances Aheimer started Raff Printing Company with a very modest amount of money. At that time I was only 14 years old. I made the decision then that I would learn the printing trade.
My father taught me the basics of business. The most important thing he taught me was to treat each customer the way I would like to be treated and “your word is your bond”.
Since 1951 the printing industry has undergone tremendous changes. With the onslaught of technology in the past 15-20 years the business has changed at the speed of light. We have taken on the challenge of growing the business in the knowledge of the graphic arts industry.
I
am grateful to my parents for starting me in this business that I love. As I look to the future I am grateful that my son Fred also decided to learn the printing trade along with his wife Debbie and my son-in-law Ron. As my role in the business has changed I have become more of a consultant and not as involved in the day to day operations of the business. I think this arrangement is working very well for the company.
Technology has made the printing industry very exciting and I am very privileged to be a part of that excitement!
