Our digital pre-press department takes pride in staying abreast of the constantly advancing digital world of hardware, software and equipment. Our system includes both Macintosh and PC platforms, running all the latest software from Microsoft, Corel, Quark, Adobe, Macromedia and more. Our server provides reliable information transmission to and from all workstations and our archiving system. All ripping and trapping takes place via our ApogeeX system allowing our pre-press operators precision control over all files.
We are able to generate high-quality color proofs through our Agfa Sherpa 50 contract proofer. With its multi-density ink color capability and advanced color management, this 50 inch proofer delivers accurate color output.
The Agfa SherpaMatic duplex digital proofing system has a built in alignment mechanism that automatically turns the paper over in exact alignment for precise unattended two sided proofing. The SherpaMatic prints a 30x40 inch duplex form at 360 dpi from dual-sided coated roll media and delivers ready to use fully imposed backed up sheets. It is a true proofing workhorse for the demanding CTP workflow.
The Agfa Avalon LF computer-to-plate system is the next generation of CTP. Dramatic advances in imaging technology and experience in the demands of platesetting have delivered a new era of accuracy and efficiency. Agfa’s HD Imaging Head, automatic calibration and an advanced operator control terminal are just a few of the features that improve output quality and increase productivity.
In conjunction with the Avalon our CIP 4 technology allows pre-press to pass ink settings directly to our six and four-color Heidelberg presses. The Avalon fully automated CTP system includes the platesetter, plate manager, on-line processor and internal plate punching function.
The Avalon utilizes the latest Thermal plate technology insuring accurate imaging. Agfa's thermal CTP system offers a combination of razor-sharp imaging and fast throughput, for consistent, high quality plate production capable of utilizing the Apogee-X Sublima XM screening.
File transfer has also become an issue of importance. With a dramatic increase in on-line transfer of digital data, high-speed internet connection has become top priority. We are currently using a T1 Link to the web as well as send and receive e-mail. Our customers can also access our FTP site for fast, reliable file transfer.
